The Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) basketball were winner over the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 39-26 in Wednesday's non-league bout.
The Panthers now possess a 3-8 record. They play next when they travel to Watauga for a bout on Friday, January 17. Hibriten will play a Pioneers team coming off a 77-62 league win over Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 7-2.
With the loss, Ashe County falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Friday, January 17. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 11-1. Freedom won 62-41 in their recent league bout against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)
