The Deep Creek Hornets basketball team scored 85 points and limited the visiting Lakeland Cavaliers to 45 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Hornets now possess a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to First Colonial for a non-league game on Friday, January 17.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host King's Fork (Suffolk, VA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Thursday, January 16. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 9-0. King's Fork won 76-75 in their recent non-league game against Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA)
