Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors (Downey, CA) and the visiting La Salle Lancers (Pasadena, CA), saw St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy's soccer squad triumph over La Salle by a count of 8-1.

The Warriors (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Cathedral (Los Angeles, CA). The Phantoms enter the Del Rey battle with a 5-3 record. In their last battle, Cathedral was overwhelmed by Bishop Amat (La Puente, CA), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Lancers battle the Salesian Mustangs (Los Angeles, CA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, January 17. La Salle will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record.
