The Tawas Area Braves basketball team scored 76 points and held the host Alpena Wildcats to 40 in the Braves non-league triumph on Monday.
The Braves now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Beaverton for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 18. Tawas Area will battle a Beavers team coming off a 49-45 league win over Gladwin (Gladwin, MI). The Beavers record now stands at 5-5.
The Wildcats (2-8) will now prepare for their contest against Gaylord (Gaylord, MI). The Blue Devils enter the Big North contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, Gaylord triumphed over Cheboygan (Cheboygan, MI), 65-53, in a non-league contest.
