Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Sam Houston Broncos (Lake Charles, LA), 55-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Barbe upgrades its record to 14-7 on the season. The Buccaneers host Lafayette (Lafayette, LA) to play the Lions in a 5A District 3 bout on Thursday, January 19. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 7-6. Lafayette lost 69-68 in their recent non-league bout against Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA)

Next up, the Broncos play the Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA) in a 5A District 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Sam Houston will attempt to upgrade on its 10-7 season record. The Golden Tors go into the bout with a 17-5 record after their 56-47 non-league win over Bell City (Bell City, LA).
