Hazel Green Trojans (Hazel Green, AL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Columbia Eagles (Huntsville, AL), 45-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hazel Green upgrades its record to 6-16 on the season. The Trojans travel to Sparkman (Harvest, AL) to play the Senators in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Senators go into the bout with a record of 17-6. Sparkman lost 64-45 in their recent non-league bout against Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, TN)

Next up, the Eagles play the Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) in a 6A Area 15 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Columbia will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a 14-2 record after their 49-46 non-league win over Tullahoma (Tullahoma, TN).
