In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Thomas Walker Pioneers basketball team scored a good 57-49 triumph over the Cumberland Gap Panthers.
In their next game, the Pioneers meet the Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) in a Cumberland match, on Friday, January 20. Thomas Walker will attempt to better on its 4-10 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 6-7 record after their 49-45 league loss to Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA).
With the defeat, Cumberland Gap moves to 0-11 on the year. The Panthers travel to Gatlinburg-Pittman (Gatlinburg, TN) to meet the Highlanders in a 2A District 2 match on Tuesday, January 17. The Highlanders enter the match with a record of 13-4. Gatlinburg-Pittman lost 56-40 in their recent non-league match against Sevier County (Sevierville, TN)
