In Monday's non-league outing, the Westfield Wolverines (Westfield, NY) basketball squad edged the visiting Dunkirk Marauders (Dunkirk, NY), by a count of 59-55.
The Wolverines (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against Maple Grove (Bemus Point, NY). The Red Dragons go into the Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - II West outing with a 5-6 record. In their last outing, Maple Grove was tipped by Chautauqua Lake (Mayville, NY), 63-56, in a league outing.
The Marauders now hold a 1-8 record. They play next when they host Allegany-Limestone for a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I West outing on Tuesday, January 17. Dunkirk will clash with a Gators squad coming off a 50-39 league loss to Salamanca (Salamanca, NY). The Gators record now stands at 7-1.
