The St. Mary's Hawks basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals to 37 in the Hawks league triumph on Monday.

The Hawks now sport a 10-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Trinity Christian for a War Eagle contest on Tuesday, January 17. St. Mary's will battle a Tigers team coming off a 79-31 league loss to Harris-Lake Park (Lake Park, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 0-8.

The Royals (2-6) will now prepare for their contest against Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA). The Westerners enter the War Eagle contest with a 4-8 record. In their last contest, Akron-Westfield ran past Trinity Christian (Hull, IA), 59-46, in a league contest.
