The Cloudland Highlanders routed the host Mitchell Mountaineers basketball team by a final score of 50-27 in Monday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Highlanders face the Hampton Bulldogs (Hampton, TN) in a 1A District 1 game, on Friday, January 20. Cloudland will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 18-0 record after their 75-34 non-league win over Happy Valley (Elizabethton, TN).
With the defeat, Mitchell falls to 6-10 on the campaign. The Mountaineers travel to Madison (Marshall, NC) to battle the Patriots in a 1A/2A Conference 42 battle on Tuesday, January 17. The Patriots come into the battle with a record of 2-15. Madison lost 55-46 in their recent league battle against Owen (Black Mountain, NC)
