Rhode Island High School Basketball - East Providence nips St. Raphael Academy

Fans at Monday's league challenge between the East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI) and the visiting St. Raphael Academy Saints (Pawtucket, RI), saw East Providence's basketball squad hold off St. Raphael Academy by a count of 59-54.

With the victory, East Providence upgrades its record to 2-7 on the campaign. The Townies host Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI) to play the Chieftains in a State Championship challenge on Wednesday, January 18. The Chieftains come into the challenge with a record of 8-4. Ponaganset won 63-32 in their recent league challenge against Scituate (North Scituate, RI)

Next up, the Saints play the Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI) in a State Championship challenge, on Wednesday, January 18. St. Raphael Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 44-41 league loss to La Salle Academy (Providence, RI).
