Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles (Warren, OH), 66-57 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mathews upgrades its record to 7-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Harding (Fairport Harbor, OH) to play the Skippers in a Northeastern bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Skippers come into the bout with a record of 9-5. Harding won 52-25 in their recent non-league bout against Christian Community (North Eaton, OH)

Next up, the Eagles play the Rootstown Rovers (Rootstown, OH) in a Portage Trail bout, on Wednesday, January 18. John F. Kennedy Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Rovers come into the bout with a 12-1 record after their 67-48 league win over Mogadore (Mogadore, OH).
