Northwestern Tigers (Maple, WI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Rice Lake Warriors (Rice Lake, WI), 76-62 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northwestern upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Tigers host Hayward (Hayward, WI) to play the Hurricanes in a Heart O'North bout on Saturday, January 21. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a record of 6-4.

Next up, the Warriors play the Superior Spartans (Superior, WI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Rice Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 14-1 record after their 93-39 non-league win over Chippewa Falls (Chippewa Falls, WI).
