North Carolina High School Basketball - Anson nudges West Stanly

January 16, 2024: Oakboro, NC 28129

Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC), 78-73 in a league bout.

With the win, Anson upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Bearcats host Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to clash with the Yellow Jackets in a 2A/3A Rocky River bout on Friday, January 19. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Forest Hills won 60-53 in their recent league bout against Central Academy (Monroe, NC)

Next up, the Colts clash with the Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) in a 2A/3A Rocky River bout, on Tuesday, January 23. West Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record.
