North Carolina High School Basketball - Bessemer City ripped by Burns

January 16, 2024: Lawndale, NC 28090

The Burns Bulldogs basketball team scored 80 points and held the visiting Bessemer City Yellow Jackets to 38 in the Bulldogs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Thomas Jefferson for a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest on Wednesday, January 17. Burns will battle a Gryphons team coming off a 65-24 league loss to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC). The Gryphons record now stands at 7-6.

The Yellow Jackets (3-14) will now prepare for their contest against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Rams enter the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Highland Tech was routed by Cherryville (Cherryville, NC), 64-55, in a league match.
