Briarfield Academy Rebels (Lake Providence, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Northeast Baptist Knights (West Monroe, LA), 2-0 in a league bout.

With the victory, Briarfield Academy upgrades its record to 14-1 on the campaign. The Rebels host Riverdale Academy (Coushatta, LA) to play the Rebels in a MAIS 2A District 4 bout on Friday, January 26. The Rebels come into the bout with a record of 4-7.

Next up, the Knights play the Central School Pioneers (Grand Cane, LA) in a MAIS 2A District 4 bout, on Friday, January 19. Northeast Baptist will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Pioneers come into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 60-27 league loss to Briarfield Academy (Lake Providence, LA).
