Geffen Academy Bruins (Los Angeles, CA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host California Academy of Math & Science Rebels (Carson, CA), 50-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Geffen Academy upgrades its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Lennox Academy (Lennox, CA) to play the Panthers in a Coastal bout on Friday, January 19. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 3-9. Lennox Academy lost 75-26 in their recent league bout against Hawthorne Math & Science Academy (Hawthorne, CA)

Next up, the Rebels play the New Roads Jaguars (Santa Monica, CA) in a Coastal bout, on Wednesday, January 17. California Academy of Math & Science will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Jaguars come into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 56-37 league loss to Vistamar (El Segundo, CA).
