Comstock Panthers (Comstock, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Rankin Red Devils (Rankin, TX), 56-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Comstock upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Panthers host Grandfalls-Royalty (Grandfalls, TX) to clash with the Cowboys in a 1A Region II District 10 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Cowboys go into the bout with a record of 9-7.

Next up, the Red Devils clash with the Iraan Braves (Iraan, TX) in a 1A Region II District 10 bout, on Friday, January 19. Rankin will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Braves go into the bout with a 19-5 record after their 54-35 league loss to Buena Vista (Imperial, TX).
