Texas High School Basketball - La Vega edges Connally

January 16, 2024: Waco, TX 76705

The La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Connally Cadets (Waco, TX), 38-33 in Tuesday's league test.

The Pirates (15-4) will now prepare for their test against Gatesville (Gatesville, TX). The Hornets go into the 4A Region III District 23 test with a 21-6 record. In their last test, Gatesville was tipped by Salado (Salado, TX), 56-52, in a league test.

The Cadets now own a 10-13 record. They play next when they host Robinson for a 4A Region III District 23 contest on Friday, January 19. Connally will meet a Rockets team coming off a 53-42 league win over China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 11-14.
