North Carolina High School Basketball - Pamlico County nipped by East Carteret

January 16, 2024: Beaufort, NC 28516

In Tuesday's league match, the host East Carteret Mariners basketball team scored a tight 69-66 triumph over the Pamlico County Hurricanes.

In their next game, the Mariners face the Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC) in a 1A/2A Coastal Plains match, on Friday, January 19. East Carteret will attempt to move on its 9-7 season record. The Seahawks enter the match with a 3-12 record after their 54-47 non-league win over North East Carolina Prep (Tarboro, NC).

With the defeat, Pamlico County moves to 8-8 on the year. The Hurricanes travel to Jones (Trenton, NC) to face the Trojans in a 1A/2A Coastal Plains match on Friday, January 19. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 8-7. Jones lost 71-42 in their recent league match against Northside - Pinetown (Pinetown, NC)
