Newberry Panthers (Newberry, FL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Eastside Rams (Gainesville, FL), 56-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newberry upgrades its record to 11-4 on the season. The Panthers travel to Chiefland (Chiefland, FL) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 18. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Chiefland lost 74-43 in their recent league bout against Trenton (Trenton, FL)

Next up, the Rams play the Buchholz Bobcats (Gainesville, FL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Eastside will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 52-48 non-league win over P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, FL).
