Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Kingsford Flivvers (Kingsford, MI), 48-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Iron Mountain upgrades its record to 10-0 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Manistique (Manistique, MI) to play the Emeralds in a Mid-Peninsula bout on Thursday, January 18. The Emeralds come into the bout with a record of 4-6.

Next up, the Flivvers play the North Dickinson Nordics (Felch, MI) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 18. Kingsford will attempt to improve on its 11-2 season record. The Nordics come into the battle with a 5-6 record after their 62-48 non-league loss to Norway (Norway, MI).
