Rutland Hurricanes (Macon, GA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Kendrick Cherokees (Columbus, GA), 52-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Rutland upgrades its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Northeast (Macon, GA) to play the Raiders in a AA Region 2 bout on Friday, January 19. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 2-15. Northeast lost 49-48 in their recent non-league bout against Westside (Macon, GA)

Next up, the Cherokees play the Jordan Red Jackets (Columbus, GA) in a AA Region 2 bout, on Friday, January 19. Kendrick will attempt to upgrade on its 2-13 season record. The Red Jackets come into the bout with a 2-12 record after their 51-50 league win over Northeast (Macon, GA).
