The Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX), 50-47 in Tuesday's league test.

The Leopards (9-12) will now prepare for their test against Greenville (Greenville, TX). The Lions go into the 5A Region II District 13 test with a 10-9 record. In their last test, Greenville was tipped by McKinney North (McKinney, TX), 68-55, in a league test.

The Cardinals now own a 11-13 record. They play next when they host Greenville for a 5A Region II District 13 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Melissa will meet a Lions team coming off a 60-49 league win over Lovejoy (Lucas, TX). The Lions record now stands at 11-9.
