River Dell Golden Hawks (Oradell, NJ) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Mahwah Thunderbirds (Mahwah, NJ), 61-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, River Dell upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Golden Hawks host Ridgefield Park (Ridgefield Park, NJ) to play the Scarlets in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 18. The Scarlets come into the bout with a record of 6-8. Ridgefield Park won 49-33 in their recent non-league bout against Ferris (Jersey City, NJ)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the NV - Old Tappan Golden Knights (Old Tappan, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 18. Mahwah will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Golden Knights come into the bout with a 4-10 record after their 57-45 league loss to Pascack Valley (Hillsdale, NJ).
