The Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) basketball felled the host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest Javelinas (Pharr, TX), 56-42 in Tuesday's league test.

The Tigers (11-17) will now prepare for their test against Vela (Edinburg, TX). The Sabercats go into the 5A Region IV District 31 test with a 23-5 record. In their last test, Vela thwarted Sharyland (Mission, TX), 76-49, in a league test.

The Javelinas now own a 2-19 record. They play next when they travel to Rowe for a 5A Region IV District 31 test on Friday, January 19. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 58-29 league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX). The Warriors record now stands at 18-10.
