Southland Academy Raiders (Americus, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Terrell Academy Eagles (Dawson, GA), 46-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Southland Academy upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Raiders travel to Valwood (Valdosta, GA) to clash with the Valiants in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout on Friday, January 19. The Valiants go into the bout with a record of 8-5. Valwood won 61-56 in their recent non-league bout against Byne Christian (Albany, GA)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Deerfield-Windsor Knights (Albany, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout, on Friday, January 19. Terrell Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 12-5 record after their 48-32 league loss to Brookwood (Thomasville, GA).
