Vale Vikings (Vale, OR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Baker Bulldogs (Baker City, OR), 40-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Vale upgrades its record to 13-2 on the season. The Vikings host Riverside (Boardman, OR) to play the Pirates in a 3A Eastern Oregon bout on Friday, January 19. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 11-6. Riverside lost 41-40 in their recent league bout against McLoughlin (Milton-Freewater, OR)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Pendleton Buckaroos (Pendleton, OR) in a 4A Greater Oregon bout, on Friday, January 19. Baker will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Buckaroos go into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 50-36 league loss to La Grande (La Grande, OR).
