Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC), 55-21 in a league bout.

With the victory, Polk County upgrades its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Wolverines travel to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills bout on Friday, January 19. The Cavaliers come into the bout with a record of 15-2. East Rutherford won 70-32 in their recent league bout against R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills bout, on Friday, January 19. Chase will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 1-15 record after their 49-8 league loss to R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC).
