McLean Tigers (McLean, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Follett Panthers (Follett, TX), 36-24 in a league bout.

With the win, McLean upgrades its record to 20-3 on the season. The Tigers host Fort Elliott (Briscoe, TX) to clash with the Cougars in a 1A Region I District 1 bout on Friday, January 19. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 8-6. Fort Elliott lost 38-35 in their recent league bout against Follett (Follett, TX)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Lefors Pirates (Lefors, TX) in a 1A Region I District 1 bout, on Friday, January 19. Follett will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 38-26 league loss to Kelton (Wheeler, TX).
