The Negaunee Miners basketball team scored 72 points and restricted the visiting Gwinn Modeltowners to 18 in the Miners league victory on Tuesday.

The Miners now sport a 10-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westwood for a Western Peninsula contest on Friday, January 19. Negaunee will battle a Patriots team coming off a 57-34 league win over Iron Mountain (Iron Mountain, MI). The Patriots record now stands at 5-3.

The Modeltowners (1-8) will now prepare for their contest against Calumet (Calumet, MI). The Copper Kings come into the non-league contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, Calumet triumphed over Houghton (Houghton, MI), 44-41, in a league contest.
