Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Jeanerette Tigers (Jeanerette, LA), 75-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Highland Baptist Christian upgrades its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Bears host Centerville (Centerville, LA) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A District 7 bout on Friday, January 19. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 1-13.

Next up, the Tigers play the Covenant Christian Academy Lions (Houma, LA) in a 1A District 7 bout, on Friday, January 19. Jeanerette will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 12-7 record after their 43-13 non-league win over New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy (New Orleans, LA).
