Marathon Mustangs (Marathon, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Sanderson Eagles (Sanderson, TX), 48-4 in a league bout.

With the victory, Marathon upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Comstock (Comstock, TX) to play the Panthers in a 1A Region II District 10 bout on Friday, January 19. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 0-8. Comstock lost 115-20 in their recent league bout against Rankin (Rankin, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys (Grandfalls, TX) in a 1A Region II District 10 bout, on Friday, January 19. Sanderson will attempt to upgrade on its 9-14 season record.
