Underwood Eagles (Underwood, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Riverside Bulldogs (Oakland, IA), 46-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Underwood upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Eagles host Grand View Christian (Des Moines, IA) to play the Thunder in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 18. The Thunder go into the bout with a record of 2-8. Grand View Christian lost 51-42 in their recent non-league bout against Collins-Maxwell (Maxwell, IA)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Missouri Valley Big Reds (Missouri Valley, IA) in a Western Iowa bout, on Friday, January 19. Riverside will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Big Reds go into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 36-30 league loss to Logan-Magnolia (Logan, IA).
