Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host Athens Wildcats (Athens, PA), 57-44 in a league match.

With the victory, Wellsboro advances its record to 7-5 on the year. The Hornets travel to Hughesville (Hughesville, PA) to face the Spartans in a non-league match on Monday, January 20. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 2-12.

The Wildcats now own a 3-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Canton for a Northern Tier match on Wednesday, January 22. Athens will face a Warriors squad coming off a 57-33 league loss to Sayre (Sayre, PA). The Warriors record now stands at 5-9.
