The Starks Panthers (Starks, LA) basketball edged the host Hackberry Mustangs (Hackberry, LA), 68-62 in Thursday's league bout.
The Panthers now possess a 17-6 record. They play next when they host Bell City for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 21. Starks will play a Bruins team coming off a 61-40 non-league loss to Midland (Midland, LA). The Bruins record now stands at 15-18.
With the loss, Hackberry falls to 15-13 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Johnson Bayou (Cameron, LA) to play the Rebels in a C District 5 bout on Tuesday, January 21. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 8-17. Johnson Bayou lost 84-38 in their recent league bout against Singer (Singer, LA)
