In Thursday's league contest, the host Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines basketball team scored a big 78-32 triumph over the Menahga Braves.

The Wolverines (5-6) will now prepare for their contest against Parkers Prairie (Parkers Prairie, MN). The Panthers go into the non-league contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, Parkers Prairie was trounced by Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (Fergus Falls, MN), 67-36, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Braves battle the Crookston Pirates (Crookston, MN) in a AA Section 8 contest, on Saturday, January 18. Menahga will attempt to better on its 1-12 season record. The Pirates go into the contest with a 3-9 record after their 81-44 non-league loss to Red Lake County Central (Oklee, MN).
