In Thursday's non-league contest, the visiting Pickford Panthers basketball team scored a big 73-43 triumph over the Sault Area Blue Devils.

The Panthers (9-1) will now prepare for their contest against Engadine (Engadine, MI). The Eagles go into the Eastern Upper Peninsula contest with a 0-9 record. In their last contest, Engadine was trounced by St. Ignace (St. Ignace, MI), 50-26, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Blue Devils confront the Menominee Maroons (Menominee, MI) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 17. Sault Area will attempt to better on its 1-10 season record. The Maroons go into the contest with a 6-5 record after their 70-46 non-league win over Peshtigo (Peshtigo, WI).
