New Mexico High School Basketball - Raton thwarts Trinidad

The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Raton Tigers (Raton, NM) and the visiting Trinidad Miners (Trinidad, CO), observed Raton's basketball team knock off Trinidad by a score of 58-47.

The Tigers (7-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Estancia (Estancia, NM). The Bears come into the 2A District 6 challenge with a 5-11 record. In their last challenge, Estancia was knocked off by Logan (Logan, NM), 81-42, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Miners encounter the Center Vikings (Center, CO) in a 3A/2A Southern Peaks challenge, on Friday, January 17. Trinidad will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 61-13 non-league win over South Park (Fairplay, CO).
