The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Assumption Royals (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) and the visiting Newman Fighting Cardinals (Wausau, WI), observed Assumption's basketball team overwhelm Newman by a score of 78-11.

The Royals (11-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Edgar (Edgar, WI). The Wildcats come into the Marawood - South challenge with a 6-11 record. In their last challenge, Edgar was routed by Marathon (Marathon, WI), 53-38, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Fighting Cardinals encounter the Spencer Rockets (Spencer, WI) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 20. Newman will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record.
