Alabama High School Basketball - Shelby County can't get by Briarwood Christian

The Shelby County Wildcats basketball squad (Columbiana, AL), was nudged 39-38 in Thursday's league battle with the host Briarwood Christian Lions (Birmingham, AL)

With the victory, Briarwood Christian advances its record to 15-9 on the year. The Lions travel to Northridge (Tuscaloosa, AL) to meet the Jaguars in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 18. The Jaguars enter the battle with a record of 18-5. Northridge won 42-30 in their recent league battle against Central (Tuscaloosa, AL)

The Wildcats now own a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Central of Clay County for a 5A Area 8 battle on Tuesday, January 21. Shelby County will meet a Volunteers squad coming off a 35-23 league win over Sylacauga (Sylacauga, AL). The Volunteers record now stands at 13-5.
