The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Christopher Cougars (Gilroy, CA) and the visiting Pioneer Mustangs (San Jose, CA), observed Christopher's basketball team overcome Pioneer by a margin of 62-50.

The Cougars (11-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Prospect (Saratoga, CA). The Panthers come into the Blossom Valley - Mt. Hamilton challenge with a 10-4 record. In their last challenge, Prospect dropped by Evergreen Valley (San Jose, CA), 53-46, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Gunderson Grizzlies (San Jose, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Pioneer will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 37-15 league loss to Hill (San Jose, CA).
