Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Mayfair Monsoons (Lakewood, CA) and the visiting Firebaugh Falcons (Lynwood, CA), saw Mayfair's soccer squad hold off Firebaugh by a count of 2-1.

The Monsoons (3-10) will now prepare for their battle against La Mirada (La Mirada, CA). The Matadores enter the Suburban battle with a 2-10 record. In their last battle, La Mirada was edged by Gahr (Cerritos, CA), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Falcons battle the Norwalk Lancers (Norwalk, CA) in a Suburban battle, on Tuesday, January 21. Firebaugh will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Lancers enter the battle with a 7-2 record after their 1-0 league win over Dominguez (Compton, CA).
