Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Mira Costa Mustangs (Manhattan Beach, CA) and the visiting South Spartans (Torrance, CA), saw Mira Costa's soccer squad hold off South by a count of 2-1.

The Mustangs (16-1) will now prepare for their battle against Redondo Union (Redondo Beach, CA). The Sea Hawks enter the Bay battle with a 9-2 record. In their last battle, Redondo Union tipped Palos Verdes (Palos Verdes Estates, CA), 3-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Spartans battle the Mira Costa Mustangs (Manhattan Beach, CA) in a Bay battle, on Tuesday, January 21. South will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Mustangs enter the battle with a 17-1 record after their 3-0 league win over Redondo Union (Redondo Beach, CA).
