The Clay County Panthers (Clay, WV) basketball nipped the visiting Calhoun Red Devils (Mt. Zion, WV), 61-58 in Tuesday's league test.
The Panthers (3-6) will now prepare for their test against Braxton County (Sutton, WV). The Eagles go into the Little Kanawha - East test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, Braxton County got by Gilmer County (Glenville, WV), 59-44, in a league test.
The Red Devils now own a 2-9 record. They play next when they host Paden City for a non-league test on Friday, January 20. Calhoun will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 36-30 league loss to Valley (Pine Grove, WV). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-7.
