Carrollton Hawks (Carrollton, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host North Greene Spartans (White Hall, IL), 52-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, Carrollton upgrades its record to 6-9 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Pleasant Hill (Pleasant Hill, IL) to play the Wolves in a Western Illinois Valley bout on Friday, January 20. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 1-11. Pleasant Hill lost 55-31 in their recent league bout against Greenfield/Northwestern (Greenfield, IL)

Next up, the Spartans play the Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL) in a Western Illinois Valley bout, on Friday, January 20. North Greene will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 14-6 record after their 56-47 league win over Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL).
