Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) and the visiting Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC), saw R-S Central's basketball squad overcome Chase by a tally of 50-39.

With the victory, R-S Central improves its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Hilltoppers travel to Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC) to play the Bearcats in a 2A Conference 41 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 14-3. Hendersonville won 65-53 in their recent league challenge against Patton (Morganton, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) in a 2A Conference 41 challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Chase will attempt to improve on its 5-11 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 4-11 record after their 57-46 league loss to Brevard (Brevard, NC).
