Wahluke Warriors (Mattawa, WA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Connell Eagles (Connell, WA), 53-50 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wahluke upgrades its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Warriors host Toppenish (Toppenish, WA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 10-3. Toppenish won 82-77 in their recent league bout against Wapato (Wapato, WA)

Next up, the Eagles play the College Place Hawks (College Place, WA) in a 1A South Central - East bout, on Friday, January 20. Connell will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 67-43 league loss to Royal (Royal City, WA).
