Union Catholic Vikings (Scotch Plains, NJ) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Elizabeth Minutemen (Elizabeth, NJ), 44-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Union Catholic upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Vikings travel to Linden (Linden, NJ) to play the Tigers in a Union County bout on Thursday, January 19. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 12-2. Linden won 75-48 in their recent league bout against Union (Union, NJ)

Next up, the Minutemen play the Westfield Blue Devils (Westfield, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 19. Elizabeth will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 9-4 record after their 62-51 league win over Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ).
