St. Croix Central Panthers (Hammond, WI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Ellsworth Panthers (Ellsworth, WI), 71-64 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Croix Central upgrades its record to 7-5 on the season. The Panthers travel to Osceola (Osceola, WI) to play the Chieftains in a Middle Border bout on Friday, January 20. The Chieftains go into the bout with a record of 14-0. Osceola won 60-55 in their recent non-league bout against Rice Lake (Rice Lake, WI)

Next up, the Panthers play the Altoona Railroaders (Altoona, WI) in a Middle Border bout, on Friday, January 20. Ellsworth will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Railroaders go into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 47-45 league win over Baldwin-Woodville (Baldwin, WI).
